Junior WordPress Developer

Job Summary:

Mori Web Studios is looking for a skilled Junior WordPress Developer with a strong eye for design. This role is for someone who can build clean, high-performing websites while maintaining strong layout, spacing, typography, and user experience standards.

You should be comfortable developing with WordPress and page builders like Elementor, while also understanding how design decisions impact performance, conversions, and SEO. This is not a purely design role. We are looking for someone who can execute both development and visual quality at a high level.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop custom WordPress websites using best practices
  • Build responsive, mobile-first layouts
  • Customize themes and page builders (Elementor preferred)
  • Ensure clean structure, spacing, and visual consistency
  • Optimize website performance, speed, and Core Web Vitals
  • Implement basic on-page SEO best practices
  • Maintain and update client websites
  • Troubleshoot plugin, theme, and compatibility issues
  • Collaborate on landing pages and marketing campaigns

Requirements:

  • 1–2 years of WordPress development experience
  • Strong understanding of Elementor or similar builders
  • Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience building responsive websites across devices
  • Ability to create clean, structured, and high-performing pages
  • Ability to balance visual design with performance and usability
  • Strong eye for layout, spacing, typography, and UX
  • Portfolio or case studies that demonstrate both development and design quality

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with WooCommerce or Shopify
  • Familiarity with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or Canva
  • Experience optimizing website speed and performance
  • Understanding of SEO fundamentals
  • Basic understanding of conversion-focused design
