Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct keyword research and competitor analysis for local service businesses to identify target keywords, content gaps, and service-area opportunities
  • Perform on-page SEO optimization, including titles, meta descriptions, headings, image alt text, internal linking, and basic page structure improvements
  • Optimize website content for search visibility, clarity, relevance, and user experience
  • Identify and fix SEO issues across WordPress websites
  • Support basic technical SEO tasks, including indexing checks, redirects, crawlability, site structure, internal linking, and page-level SEO issues
  • Support local SEO campaigns for service-based businesses
  • Optimize and maintain Google Business Profiles, including posts, updates, services, simple Canva image edits, and cross-posting approved content to social media channels
  • Support basic reputation management tasks, including monitoring reviews and drafting professional responses
  • Support local directory submissions and citation building to improve local SEO visibility and website authority
  • Monitor rankings, traffic, indexing, and performance using Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and SEO tools
  • Prepare SEO updates, performance reports, and task summaries for client review
  • Follow internal SEO workflows, checklists, and implementation plans accurately

Requirements:

  • 1–2 years of SEO experience, freelance or agency experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of on-page SEO and local SEO fundamentals
  • Experience working with WordPress websites
  • Familiarity with Rank Math, Yoast, or similar WordPress SEO plugins
  • Familiarity with Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, and Google Analytics
  • Basic keyword research and content optimization experience
  • Ability to optimize website pages for both search engines and users
  • Comfortable following SOPs, checklists, and recurring SEO workflows
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Good written English
  • Portfolio, case studies, screenshots, or examples of SEO-related work

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with US-based local businesses
  • Familiarity with Semrush, Ahrefs, SE Ranking, or similar SEO tools
  • Deeper technical SEO knowledge, including indexing, redirects, site structure, internal linking, and crawlability
  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge
  • Understanding of conversion-focused website content
  • Experience preparing simple SEO reports or client-facing updates

Salary Range:
